The races of Tyrinn

There are many different races within the world of Tyrinn, below is a sample of some of the more common people that can be used to create characters with while adventuring.

HUMAN

Humans come in all shapes and sizes, skin and hair color from both ends of the color spectrum. Men have adapted to live in all parts of Tyrinn living in cities or in solitary areas of the world, several of the more common variations are listed below.

GNOMES

Very short but quite intelligent beings known across Tyrinn as mechanical geniuses, nearly all known technology has come from the mind and imagination of a gnome. All gnomish races are master builders and start with six creation points (CRP) at first level raising 1d4 points per level. Every attempt during a game to create something uses one of these points whether they are successful or not and every extra function of a device will cost an extra creation point.

REPTITE

Reptilian with direct lineage to their dragon ancestors, ruthless and warlike reptites love the thrill of battle. Having thier blood being infused with dragon magic has given them curious properties upon death which is similar to a dragons breathe weapon, their death results in this energy expelling violently from their body damaging anyone nearby with the type of energy varied by the color of their scales.


QUETZAL

Reptilian people who live on the swampy areas of Marshland isle, they were not known to exist until recently due to the reluctance of working with "warm bloods" whom their ancestors warred with eons ago.


ULGORN

Humanoid creatures with bodies like men but heads, hands, legs and feet of beasts.

Ulgorn roam the lands outside of civilized areas in loosely organized war bands, the name Ulgorn beastman is a general term used by those not of the clans as a general description whereas Ulgorn families have their own name that they refer to.


MINOTAUR

Humanoid with heads of bulls or cows all minotaur's are one of the physically strongest races available as a character standing seven feet tall with various fur patterns and horn types based on breed.  Minotaurs in general often mistrust spellcasters preferring to use their strength to overwhelm their enemies in combat.

A proud and honorable race who look out for those they consider weaker than themselves even though it often comes off as being arrogant.

ORC

Brutish and ugly every orc is a warlike beast, they are vicious and mean pointy eared, pig snouted humanoids that live by the creed "might makes right" with tribal leaders being the meanest and strongest.

There are untold numbers of orcish clans on Tyrinn and infighting between them is so common that  new tribes pop up only to be wiped out over and over.

Orcs have green skin of different shades that slowly turns grey as they reach old age, grey orcs are the most feared by their enemies because being veterans they have survived long enough to change that color.

DWARF

One of the eldest races, short, stocky and known for their long beards which they take pride in. Dwarves are excellent stone workers and blacksmiths, it is said dwarven construction is the best in the land.

BASTESIAN

A lone priest spoke of a vision and a prayer given him by the goddess Bast that would allow him to transform normal cats into protectors and defenders for the temples, Bastesians are humanoid in form with the features and demeaners of felines.


SEKHMET

The warriors of Sekhmet are in all actuality Bastesian, however when the unnamed cleric of Gokatta created guardians he opted to use the more bigger felines as a model to serve as the warriors for the temples, Sekhmet resemble bigger feral type cats like lions, tigers and panthers.


SPRITE

Small winged fey folk about one foot tall with natural magic, all sprites are categorized into good or evil types with looks differing greatly. Due to their small size sprites can only use dagger sized weapons but all armor will only cost half of the listed price due to using less material. Sprites use fey magic which requires a special spell or mana potions to replenish points.

KIDLING

Kidlings are ever happy little folk always curious and over excitable, they like wearing bright happy colors going so far as to dye their hair various unnatural colors. Kidling stand around four feet tall and always have a mischievous smile, they are considered annoying to most races because of their tendency to talk constantly and "find" things belonging to others, they have a ninety percent pickpocket ability.


SETEY

Millenia ago the dog God Setis became jealous of his rival Bast having her own followers made in her image so he followed suit and created worshipers in his own likeness, Seties are the guardians and warriors of the temples of Setis.

A Setey can be of various breeds like normal dogs and are natural enemies of Bastesians.


GUBBY TROLL

Gubbies are short humanoids resembling human children in build, they have the intelligence of a child including short attention spans, they are very easily recognized by their upper lip which sticks out almost cutely.

The story goes that Gubbies were originally created by a grieving mage as a plaything for his children when his wife passed away, they are rumored to be a crossbreed of a Kidling and a troll, made to be able to withstand all the things needed to play with children.


VEERMIN

Veermin are five feet tall humanoid rats with long prehensile tails and fur colors of grey, black or brown. Veermin magic users are especially powerful because of the khaostone in their blood


MIXED RACE

A cross between any two other races, mixed race characters exhibit some traits of both sides of their bloodline as well as features belonging to both parents.


WILLOWIN

The Republic of Willowin is one of the more populated countries on Tyrinn, while it is almost completely comprised of farmers the Willowins are actually very strategic minded and tactical in the art of warfare.

Willowins stand three and a half to four feet tall with hair shades of mostly red to orange but can be shades of brown as well.


GANGI

A highly unusual race of fish humanoids with the peculiar ability of being immune to most forms of magic, Gangi have an aura around them stretching ten feet which causes magic to be null and malfunction. Gangi have pink, blue or green skin and big flapping fins on their head, they stand around three or four feet tall and can breathe underwater just as easily as breathing on land.



ELF

Slender built with pointed ears and a great love of magic, most ethnicities of elves love nature and are proficient with ranged weapons. Elves are the longest living race on Tyrinn.

ARIELIAN

The Arielian are an ancient race of winged humanoids rumored to have descended from the stars

GOBLIN

Small green or red skinned humanoids of a vicious nature which often intermingle with orcs and ogres. Goblins have long sharp needle like teeth, huge pointed ears and faces that often look smushed up, the majority of the goblins are mistreated by larger races and so learn to fend for themselves by teaming together in gangs so they can get the advantage in combat.

ORB WEAVER

Orb Weavers have six eyes, spider like mandibles and white or red hair and dark skin with red markings resembling their goddess. Orb weavers can spin their own silk for many uses from the spinnerets located on their forearms.


CENTARIS

Living in more remote areas of the world Centaris live in huge herds upwards to hundreds of the same breed. Centaris are a race made up of a human upper torso and animal like lower extremities.
