A short history of Tyrinn

THE WAR OF THE MACE

Five hundred years ago, the orcish gods rebelled from the pantheon of deities and gave three war chiefs powerful artifacts, these made the wielders undefeatable and the orcs began raiding, conquering and destroying everything that their horde found in their path however Jarvos the god of light refused to let this happen and selected champions to lead armies to stop the advancing horde. The Cleric champions fought a massive campaign against the orcs during which the gods of chaos saw their chance to send their demonic followers into the world to cause mayhem, they opened the gates to the blazing nether on an island containing a city called Veltor. This island and all its inhabitants became twisted and chaotic forming the ranks of chaos while the orcs and champions of light battled on the mainland. Once the demons began invading Tyrinn all three armies waged war with hundreds of thousands dying. As a last effort, the gods of light sent one of their own to close the gates to the nether sacrificing his immortal self in the process. With the gates closed, the demons vanished leaving the chaos followers weak and powerless, the orcs succumbed to fighting within themselves after the orcish artifacts were destroyed and the armies of light took control and won the war. This became known as the war of the mace because of the clerics’ affinity for maces.
